I need you to assist in managing our brands as an editor by keeping an eye on quality, consistency in voice, and helping each brand reach its full potential.
I need you to have a keen eye for grammatical errors and take a thoughtful approach in editing work.
I need you to help me on editorial tasks when necessary, this ranges from the mundane to the exciting - keyword research and headline writing included. You’ll assist in managing our content calendars. You’ll also tap into the your creative juices and help develop infographic and video ideas to be created by our graphics team.
I need you to have a heart—and understand that people work hard and fast to meet challenging deadlines. In other words, you DON’T attack people with the stuff you find (even though you might want to). Instead, you present them professionally and graciously.
I need you to be diligent and organized. Tell me if you need more work. Tell me if you need less work. Check in with things that need checking in. The calendar is king.
I need you to take charge of your job and make sure that you are worth the high expectations you have for YOURSELF.
I need you to have at least 1 year working SOMEWHERE. I don’t care where, I just want to know that you’ve worked before.
I need you to have SUPERB concentration. If you are easily distracted, this job is NOT for you.
I need you to communicate effectively and let your boss know what you’re doing, when you’re doing it, and in some cases, how you’re doing it.
- Bachelor's Degree
- At least 1 year working ANYWHERE
- Hyper-organized - Familiar with Google Drive a PLUS!
- Tech Savvy (I will know in 10 seconds, if you are. Don't apply if you can't handle the internet, this is not for you)
- Fluent native English speaker
- Writing or Editing Experience (this could have been a class, school newspaper, etc)
- Has an eye for errors, and can tell when things are out of place
- Takes initiative, asks questions, learns quickly.
- Team Player. We’re all in this together.
- Lives in Austin, Texas.
This is a full time position, with the first two weeks being dedicated to training.
On the first of the month following 30 days of employment, you will be eligible for health benefits. After 90 days, you will be eligible to participate in our 401k.
